ShishyaArt: "Shishya," which comes from Sanskrit, means "student" in the simplest of terms. To me, the word symbolizes the wealth of knowledge and skills one can gain through a formal education. I picked up a paintbrush without any previous experience and started putting paint on a canvas. It didn't take me long to realize that I loved how the colors could blend together to make something totally new. After painting a few pieces, I realized I could do some good with the time and effort I was putting in to my pieces. ShishyaArt is dedicated to serving the underprivileged by helping them obtain an education through the funds from each painting sold at our store; to help people who can't get an education due to a myriad of circumstances achieve their goals.
